Order of the Golden Acorn

Order of the Golden Acorn is open to anyone aged over 3 years who is a full member, ordinary member, provisional member or affiliate member. 

A child is accepted into the Order of the Golden Acorn once they have earned ten silver acorns.

An adult is accepted into the order after they have been a full, ordinary provisional or affiliate member for at least 24 consecutive months, and have demonstrated an ongoing dedication to serving the group that goes above and beyond that which expected of them as an active group participant.

Entry into the order can be granted by any committee member or by majority vote of attending adult members who are part of the Order of the Golden Acorn provided there are three or members present. Recommendations for entry into the order can be given to the leading Lord or Lady or Committee by any individual and reason for their entry should be given.

On acceptance to the order the individual is presented with a gold acorn charm on a necklace.  The presentation should preferable take place with some ceremony and it should be presented by either the leading Lord, the leading Lady, a member of the committee or a combination of these persons. 

Subsequent golden acorns cannot be earnt.

Gold acorns may be used by any member provided they are not worn as a necklace (eg they may be used in buttons, as a belt mount or embroidery motif.)

Gold acorns may only be worn as a necklace by those accepted into the order and the cord or chain they are worn on must be period appropriate.
